Hull City manager Steve Bruce has admitted that he would be interested in making Isaac Hayden and Chuba Akpom’s loan deals permanent.

The Arsenal duo have spent the season on loan at the KC Stadium, and Buce, who says he has a good relationship with Arsene Wenger, is hopeful that at least one of the two will be available to sign.

“Hopefully he [Wenger] thinks it’s a good home,” Bruce said. “We try and look after them and a year on loan at somewhere like Hull will do them the world of good.

“They have both had terrific years with us and I will be on the phone very, very quickly to see if I can make it permanent. I wouldn’t mind that at all.”

Hayden has played 14 times for the Tigers, while Akpom has featured on 31 occassions over all competitions, scoring seven times.

However, Brentford are apparently also interested in signing the 24-year-old winger, which could provide them with competition.

Barnsley have finally agreed a compensation package with Brentford for the transfer of Alfie Mawson in the summer.

The two sides will now not have to face a tribunal to decide the fee.
