We have the latest gossip and transfer rumours from across Yorkshire for you:

Leeds United are one of several clubs chasing highly-rated Sheffield Wednesday youngster George Hirst, according to the Daily Mail.

However, Leeds may face competition from Chelsea, West Ham, Southampton and Newcastle.

Wednesday may struggle to keep the 17-year-old, who is considered to be one of the more outstanding talents in academy football in England.

He has already played a significant number of times for the Under-21s and made his England Under-17s debut last week, scoring twice in a 2-2 draw with Germany.

Hirst is the son of Wednesday legend David, who scored 128 goals for the South Yorkshire side.

Barnsley have signed Middlesbrough winger Harry Chapman on loan until May 8.

Chapman has been exceptional in the UEFA Youth League this season, scoring a stunning individual effort against Torino in a 3-0 win.

It led to an Italian journalist calling him a “phenomenon”.

Rotherham United have allowed Nile Ranger to join them on trial.

The 24-year-old has not had a club since leaving Blackpool in 2015, who he last played for in 2014 against the Millers.

Manager Neil Warnock may be casting an eye over Ranger ahead of a possible deal.
