Half term report: Doncaster Rovers

Paul Mayfield, of Retford

As we stand at the turn of the year the club is in a much better league position than it was last term. The football being played is some of the best seen by a Rovers supporter in a very long time. Only Middlesborough and Nottingham Forest have been better against us so far this season and we should have won at Newcastle. In loanee striker Billy Sharp we have a natural goalscorer and his goals will keep us up without a doubt. Jason Shackell is a rock in the Rovers defence and the loanee players are fitting brilliantly into the style of football that the manager has insisted we play. I also believe that our home form has been the key to our success so far this season.

Are your team exceeding pre-season expectations or under-achieving? Over achieving somewhat... but deservedly so.

Hero? Billy Sharp keeps on scoring the goals.

Most disappointing player? If I had to pick one it would be James Coppinger. He has got the skill and I would not say he is disappointing, just frustrating.

Best moment? Spurs in the Carling Cup and the 3-0 win at Palace.

Worst moment? Losing at home to Barnsley.

Best side faced? Nottingham Forest.

Worst side faced? Barnsley.

Is your manager doing a good job? Fantastic job.

What has gone right/wrong this season? Home form has improved and we have a rock solid defence. We just need to win more away games.

What activity is needed in the January transfer window? Sign Jason Shackell and keep Billy Sharp.

Where will your team finish? 11th.
