Halifax looked to be slipping to their fifth straight defeat before scoring twice in stoppage time to rescue a dramatic point.

Aspin said: “Although it’s only a point, to get off the mark is a big turning point because you’re under pressure when you’re not winning games.

“I feel for the first time in a long time we’ve had a bit of luck because I thought when we conceded the first goal we were on top and it was a very unfortunate way to go behind.

“You couldn’t have seen it coming at all but in the position we’re in we’ll take it as a massive positive and we’ll strive to get better.”

An end-to-end first-half saw both sides spurn good chances to take the lead as James Bolton hit the bar with a thunderous shot from a corner and Jordan Burrow’s shot was saved by Alan Julian when clean through. Bromley’s Anthony Cook and Bradley Goldberg both went close among a flurry of other chances.

Just as Halifax were in the ascendancy, Moses Emmanuel somehow scooped the ball past Matt Glennon with a weak shot despite lying on the ground.

Substitute Pierre Joseph-Dubois added a second with a side-foot finish to seemingly sink the Shaymen, but a stunning 30-yard shot from Connor Hughes and Burrow’s last-gasp penalty after Elliott Whitehouse had been fouled in the area sealed an incredible comeback.
