It’s all about the points, says Halifax boss Aspin

Andy Cook had headed the visitors in front early in the second half and Barrow looked likely to score again, but Halifax netted three times in the last 10 minutes for their first win since March.

Aspin said: “For the seventh game in a row we’ve conceded first and I have to admit (the win) didn’t look likely. They were controlling the game and we were struggling to make any impression.

“Sometimes you might not have played great but it’s all about the result. We didn’t play well but I’m not bothered, it’s just about getting the points.”

Cook nearly doubled Barrow’s lead with a low shot across goal, but out of nowhere Sean Tuton latched onto a hopeful high ball ahead of defender Danny Livesey and poked the ball over goalkeeper Joel Dixon for his first Halifax goal.

Home debutant CJ Hamilton, on loan from Sheffield United, got off the mark barely a minute later after Jordan Burrow’s shot had been tipped onto a post.

The win was sealed in added time when Burrow notched his sixth goal in seven matches after Josh Macdonald’s miscued shot fell into his path.
