Point is snatched away from Halifax

FOOTBALL: Ten-man FC Halifax suffered an agonising 2-1 defeat at Chester in the Skrill Premier last night after equalising in stoppage time.

Following a goalless first half, Craig Mahon netted from close range on 55 minutes for the hosts after Halifax’s Josh Wilson was sent off for a foul on Gareth Seddon.

Halifax appeared to have secured a late point when James Bolton scored in stoppage time after poor defending by Chester.

But substitute Jamie Menagh stabbed home a dramatic winner for Chester following a reciprocal defensive lapse from Neil Aspin’s side.
