Harrogate Town confirm departure of midfielder due to illness

HARROGATE TOWN have confirmed the departure of midfielder Jack Emmett, who is taking a step away from football for an indefinite period to focus on his recovery from illness.

The 27-year-old, who played a key part in the club's rise through the divisions to the Football League, made 229 appearances for the club.

On his exit from Town, Emmett, who is continuing to work with a specialise to overcome chronic fatigue, said: “Thank you to the club and to everyone who has supported me during my time here.

“It has been an incredible journey and I have loved every minute, but I know this is the right decision for my health moving forward.

“Hopefully one day, I will be able to fully recover and return to the game.”
