Harrogate Town signing Kevin Lokko 'a proper captain'

Harrogate Town have signed a “proper captain” after Kevin Lokko became their fourth signing of the summer.

The left-sided centre-back joins on a free transfer after his contract with Dover Athletic ran down.

The England C international ended both of his campaigns on the south coast with player of the season awards, the choice of the supporters in 2019-20, and his team-mates the previous year.

Manager Andy Hessenthaler described the 24-year-old as a “proper captain”.

Lokko was an FA Youth Cup winner at Norwich City in 2013, but with the exception of two games for Stevenage, all his senior football has been played at non-league level, for Welling United, Maidstone United, Dagenham and Redbridge and Dover.

Harrogate will play league football for the first time on September 12 after winning the Conference play-offs.

Editor’s note: first and foremost - and rarely have I written down these words with more sincerity - I hope this finds you well.
