Henderson hat-trick leaves Hill unhappy with Oakwell officials

It enabled Darius Henderson to score his first goal on the way to his second hat-trick in five days and his third of the season.

His penalty came 11 minutes before the interval. Barnsley’s Miles Addison pushed Liam Trotter and Henderson sent goalkeeper Luke Steele the wrong way.

Hill fumed: “It was not a penalty, 100 per cent. It was a controversial decision by the linesman, it was handbags at best. I thought the second goal was offside, the linesman made a mistake, it’s a human error.”

Henderson’s second came when he beat the offside trap before side-footing home.

Fifteen minutes from the end Henderson made it three when the ball broke free and he blasted home.

Barnsley got a consolation goal two minutes from time through Jimmy McNulty.

Hill added: “I am disappointed with the result and the performance.

“We didn’t take control of the game at any time.

“When we did have the ball, we didn’t retain it long enough. But we’ll move on to the next game against Derby.

“We’ve got 19 games left and they are all winnable. The conditions were awful and on a day like today it’s great to be the away side.”

Hill then had a go at his own side’s fans. “Booing players for making mistakes is out of order. They’ve got to show some patience towards us. The players are responsible for the mistakes they make.”

Millwall manager Kenny Jackett praised his players for the way they responded to a 6-0 home defeat to Birmingham City.
