Top scorer James Vaughan suffered a knock in the win over Millwall but came through training this week and played.

Adam Hammill put the hosts in front on 14 minutes, before James Vaughan increased their advantage with two first-half efforts.

The in-form striker completed his hat-trick after the break from the penalty spot, Pugh replying for the Cherries.

Adam Clayton made it 5-1 to Huddersfield on 78 minutes.

Huddersfield boss Mark Robins was delighted with his side’s five-star show and said: “We have beaten a good team.

“I know it is easy to say that but Bournemouth play good football and caused us problems.

“Eddie is a bright young manager and Bournemouth were a threat. It was a good day for us.”
