Here’s our line-up, with a five-strong backline, but a bit of attacking talent.

Stood out a mile for Boro on an otherwise forgettable occasion in the Potteries. Kept the scoreline down at Stoke.

Defenders

Joe Wright (Doncaster Rovers)

Switched seamlessly to the right-hand side of defence and his good day was crowned by a rare goal.

Andy Butler (Doncaster Rovers)

The veteran stopper was imperious at Northampton and rolled back the clock with a very commanding performance.

Naby Sarr (Huddersfield Town)

After the midweek low at Cardiff, Sarr produced an outstanding reaction.

Strode forward with purpose and was composed and was strong in his defensive duties.

Julian Borner (Sheffield Wednesday)

Proving to be one of the early successes of the Tony Pulis era and was rock-solid at Carrow Road. He is Pulis’s type of player.

Went close to a goal as well.

Harry Toffolo (Huddersfield Town)

The redoubtable left-back produced a typically high-octane showing at the weekend, crowned by his first goal for Town at the John Smith’s Stadium and how he deserved it. Excellent display.

Midfield

Adam Reach (Sheffield Wednesday)

After being an influence at both ends in midweek, Reach produced some telling moments at Norwich and set up Josh Windass’s goal with a very presentable assist.

Greg Docherty (Hull City)

Scored a cracker against Oxford and it was just reward for a very prominent performance for the League One high-fliers.

Forwards

Oli McBurnie (Sheffield United)

Broke his scoring duck which stretched back to July 11 and produced an outstanding performance according to Chris Wilder.

His headed goal was clinical and he was desperately unlucky to be on the losing side against Leicester.

Tyreece John-Jules (Doncaster Rovers)

Netted with an excellent chip at Northampton for his second goal in successive games.

His latest goal crowned an energetic performance.

Josh Koroma (Huddersfield Town)

Scored a beauty for the second successive Saturday with a sublime early curler to put Town on their way against QPR.

Just for good measure, provided an assist for Toffolo’s second. Enjoying himself immensely this season and coming along very nicely.

Manager/head coach

Carlos Corberan (Huddersfield Town)

His style of football starting to shine through at Huddersfield.
