Huddersfield Town in move for Crystal Palace striker Lee

HUDDERSFIELD TOWN are believed to be on the verge of signing Crystal Palace striker Alan Lee.

The Terriers have been searching for a physically imposing frontman capable of leading the attack all summer with Leicester City's Steve Howard believed to have been an early target.

Now, however, Palace manager George Burley has revealed Town have had a bid – believed to be around 300,000 – accepted by the Selhurst Park board for the 6ft 3in striker.

The Scot said: "I would like to keep Alan but they (Huddersfield) have offered him a three-year contract on more money and it is very difficult to stand in his way."

Former Rotherham United striker Lee, whose Palace contract is due to run out next summer, has scored twice in four games this season.
