Huddersfield Town v Tottenham Hotspur: Visit of Kane and Spurs one to be relished, insists Wagner
Town host Tottenham Hotspur today to kick-start a month that will also feature a home clash with Manchester United and a trip to Liverpool, the latter offering a personal reunion with Jurgen Klopp. Town also travel to Swansea City on October 14.
“When we won promotion at Wembley, everyone was celebrating and smiling because they were excited about the Tottenhams, Man United and Liverpools,” said Wagner. “And now we have that. To now start worrying about those teams makes absolutely no sense. It is exactly the time to have a smile on our faces, be excited and go out to give them a game. This is exactly how we feel in our football club. It is great to have these fixtures.”

Hide AdTown have started life in the Premier League admirably, taking nine points from their opening half-dozen fixtures. Now, though, comes a possible reality check as to just how tough life can be among the elite with Harry Kane today arriving in West Yorkshire in the form of his life with 11 goals from seven appearances for club and country in September.
Wagner added: “The first six games were good from our side, the players have adapted to the Premier League and shown they are capable. All the nine points were deserved. But now we must improve again.
“I cannot say our start means nothing, but it is only six games. Now, we have to try and take bigger steps, show we are able to improve. We have to improve because what we have shown over the first six games will not be enough, The good thing is the players are open-minded and so hungry to improve.”
