Huddersfield Town v Yeovil: Clark looking to strike right balance at home

HUDDERSFIELD Town need to start turning home draws into wins if they are going to win promotion, says manager Lee Clark.

The Terriers are fifth in the League Two table after six games – but have dropped four points in their first three home games.

Speaking ahead of today's home game with Yeovil, Clark said: "We've had six league games and the ultimate aim would have been to have maximum points but that hasn't been the case

"I'm not being disrespectful to our opponents but, if we have aspirations to achieve our goals this season, we need to look to take maximum points. We have to start turning these home draws into victories."

"We need to be more consistent in terms of winning football matches on a regular basis week in, week out. That is what makes a good side," he added. "If we had won our last couple of home games we would have been even better off in terms of our League position."

Yeovil, who were beaten both home and away by Town last season, signed Bristol City's reserve team goalkeeper Stephen Henderson on loan yesterday after first choice John Sullivan was ruled out by injury.

Clark expects the visitors to try and 'shut up shop' at the Galpharm Stadium which means his own players will have to show patience in search of goals.

"No matter how many times we have the opposition watched, I would say that 90 per cent of the teams that come to our stadium this season will change their formation and their game-plan," he said. "We must combine quality with patience to overcome that and the players are well aware of that.

"Yeovil will be very, very tough but we're confident and expect to win – and that's without being disrespectful," he added. "I want my team to show a bit of consistency and play at a high tempo and high intensity and start the game well."

Clark, meanwhile, says midfielder Anthony Pilkington is 'walking on water' after becoming a father for the first time this week.
