HUDDERSFIELD TOWN'S achievement in staying up in the Premier League is absolutely brilliant.

Who would have backed Huddersfield going to Manchester City and then Chelsea? I was asked on air by Adrian Durham that if Huddersfield did stay up would I finally admit that we would call them THE Yorkshire club as they call themselves that. So I will have to as they managed to stay in the division.

So well done to them, I am really pleased for them.

It is an amazing achievement. Look at their performances last season when they had a negative goal difference and still went up. To survive in the Premier League after getting points at City and Chelsea was fantastic.

It was great to see Sir Patrick Stewart in the crowd because he actually gave me one of my doctorates and it brought back good memories. An honorary doctorate of civil law from the University of Huddersfield. I will never forget it.

At least Huddersfield are one Yorkshire club who have achieved success this season. Bradford are now in a mess after the manager has left and my hometown club Barnsley have been relegated – and now the county is in an even worse position than it was.

Meanwhile, I am making my dancing comeback for one farewell appearance. All the Strictly Come Dancing champions from the series are back for the TV Baftas on Sunday, so it will be good to get on my dancing shoes again.
