Hull City boss told it's business as usual...for the moment

LEONID SLUTSKY has been reassured it is 'business as usual' by Hull City's owners following fevered speculation surrounding his future.

The Tigers are struggling in the Championship, just four wins from 18 outings having left a club who last season were competing in the top flight perilously close to the relegation zone.

Slutsky, appointed in June, has cut a forlorn figure in recent weeks and the presence of vice chairman Ehab Allam at Tuesday’s goalless draw against Millwall in south London fuelled suggestions the axe was about to fall with Nigel Adkins touted as a possible replacement.

However, Allam has moved to reassure the Russian ahead of the weekend visit of Bristol City to the KCOM Stadium.

“It is business as usual for Leonid at the moment,” the Tigers chief told The Yorkshire Post shortly before attending tonight’s meeting with fans’ groups in the East Riding.

Slutsky is not due to sit down with the Allams until next month’s scheduled monthly meeting.

Speculation over a possible move for Adkins emerged earlier this week. He is understood to have attended several City matches this term, including Saturday’s draw at home to Ipswich Town.

His long-term assistant Andy Crosby is also reported to have been at Ashton Gate on Tuesday as Hull’s weekend opponents lost at home to Preston North
