Jack Walton (Barnsley): Enjoying a fine season and produced another impressive performance at Carrow Road before finally being beaten.

DEFENCE

Brandon Fleming (Hull City): Grasped his opportunity with both hands as Hull City reasserted their promotion aspirations on their return to first-team action against Charlton.

Michal Helik (Barnsley): Strong and authoritative against the Championship’s best side in Norwich. Good response after being dropped following the Bournemouth game in early December.

Tom Lees (Sheffield Wednesday): Held Wednesday together and produced a commanding performance harkening back to the Lees of old as the hosts claimed a crucial three points against Derby.

Paddy McNair (Middlesbrough) – Wycombe may have taken the lead on Saturday with a fine individual goal from Uche Ikpeazu on Saturday, but McNair was immaculate after that. Two brilliant corners also led to two goals.

Jacob Greaves (Hull City): The captain’s armband - a big honour for the Cottingham lad - sat well on his shoulders against Charlton. Impressive again. Easy to see why bigger clubs are looking at him.

Marcus Tavernier (Middlesbrough): Brought back into the starting line-up by Neil Warnock and did not disappoint. Scored with a blistering shot at Adams Park and unfortunate not to add a second. Never gave Wycombe a moment’s peace.

George Honeyman (Hull City): Class act for the Tigers this season and again showed what he brings to the table, which is a lot. Provided a lovely assist for the hosts’ second from Greg Docherty.

Marvin Johnson (Middlesbrough): Arguably Boro’s player of the season thus far and there have been a few candidates. A constant outlet down the left against Wycombe.

Kadeem Harris (Sheffield Wednesday): Looked the player most lively in the final third for Wednesday and was an outlet against Derby. Also made a fantastic late block to deny a certain goal for Lee Buchanan.

Fraizer Campbell (Huddersfield Town): Scored with a fine header that his fellow Huddersfield native Andy Booth would have been proud of for his fifth goal of the campaign. Showed his importance to the team with another performance of leadership against Reading.

Manager/head coach: Neil Thompson (Sheffield Wednesday).
