Mallik Wilks opened the scoring Hull City finished the game with 10 men after Reece Burke’s sending off in the 77th minute.
The red card was followed by a Jerry Yates’ equaliser for Blackpool just four minutes later.
The Tigers remain second in League One and only one point ahead of third-placed Portsmouth, who have a game in hand on Grant McCann’s side.
Hull remain three points off Lincoln City, who occupy the top spot in the division and have played the same number of games (21) as the Tigers.
Indeed, McCann has been trying to strike a balancing act this month in trying to reinforce his Hull City squad for the challenges of a manic season whilst being wary of the financial problems Covid-19 has brought too.
The problems caused by the pandemic mean there is no bottomless pit of money.
And there are the constraints of the League One salary cap to work with.
Which has meant the arrivals have been offset by the loan of Jordy De Wijs to Queens Park Rangers with a view to a permanent transfer and Bristol City recalling loanee Hakeeb Adelakun.
However, the Tigers are said to be close to concluding a contract deal which would provide McCann with a huge boost, whilst other outgoings are likely before the window closes
