Crucially, the Tigers will have home advantage in what will be the third of at least four meetings this season.

The sides had never played one another before this season, but have already clashed in the league and FA Cup.

Joey Barton's side handed out Hull's biggest League One defeat of the season, 4-1 in a televised game at Highbury, but Grant McCann's men gained revenge when they came to East Yorkshire in the FA Cup, winning 2-0 in the first round.

The sides are due to meet again in April. As League One leaders, Hull will be hoping that is it for 2020-21, but Fleetwood's goal next year is the play-offs.

The match will take place in the second full week of January.

The winners will go into February's quarter-finals and having experienced the Wembley final as a player, McCann is hoping to take Hull there in March.
