Hull City v Nottingham Foresyt: Tigers deny link to Egyptian businessman

HULL CITY owner Russell Bartlett has denied reports that the club could be sold to Eygptian multi-millionaire Assem Allam.

Bartlett, however, has discussed possible investment from Allem, who is a vice-president and sponsor of the club. The Tigers are fighting to balance the books after relegation from the Premier League but have been unable to off-load 40,000-a-week midfielder Jimmy Bullard or defender Kamil Zayatte, who has rejected a move to Leicester City.

Bullard returned from a five-month spell in the wilderness in midweek to inspire victory against Derby County and will keep his place today against Nottingham Forest.

Adam Pearson, the club's head of football operations, said: "The situation now is that Jimmy will stay with us at least until January, when the transfer window re-opens. He made a point to all of us by showing he retains the desire."
