Boyd completes switch to Tigers

HULL CITY: George Boyd has made his switch to the KC Stadium permanent after a successful loan spell.

As expected, the 27-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the Premier League new boys.

Boyd joined the Tigers on loan from Peterborough United, who were paid a £200,000 fee up front with a further bonus payment being due if Steve Bruce’s side went on to clinch promotion.

That has now been paid but Posh will receive no further fee for the permanent transfer due to the Scotland international being out of contract in the summer and, therefore, a free agent.

Boyd, who had been due to join Nottingham Forest in January only for the plug to be pulled because of a failed eye test, netted four goals in 13 appearances for City.
