Bristol Rovers v Huddersfield Town: Time for Town to win it for Pilkington

LEE CLARK insists the horror injury sustained by Anthony Pilkington in midweek will not cast a shadow over Huddersfield Town’s promotion ambitions.

The Terriers manager has described watching the wideman suffer a broken leg and dislocated ankle in Tuesday’s win over Rochdale as “the worst night of my managerial career”.

Pilkington, who underwent surgery on Thursday, is expected to be out for six months but Clark said: “Anthony is in a positive frame of mind.

“On the back of that news, we are in a positive frame of mind going down to Bristol Rovers. We want to give Anthony the perfect end to the season by gaining promotion.”

As for who replaces Pilkington, Clark added: “We have got a lot of quality players in the squad who have already come in and done the business for us so far this season.

“It is up to those players to stake their claim as to why they should replace Anthony and be part of what could be a fantastic end to the season.”
