Head coach Grant McCann has already brought in 10 new faces during a summer overhaul that followed the club’s relegation from the Championship.

And, despite previously stating that he would “never say never” when asked about the possibility of further incomings this month, the Tigers chief has revealed that he is indeed now satisfied that there is sufficient strength-in-depth within the KCOM Stadium.

“Not in, no. Definitely not in,” McCann said, regarding imminent player movement involving City.

“We’re happy with the group we’ve got. We’re quite strong and players [Tom Eaves and Richie Smallwood] are coming back to fitness now. We’ve got cover in every position.”

City have until 5pm today to conclude any further business with fellow English clubs, and while McCann has ruled out further additions, he is still looking to move a couple out on a temporary basis.

“We’re looking to try and get one or two of the younger ones out [on loan],” McCann said

“Nothing has really materialised yet. There have been conversations but nothing really that has been striking us to go ‘yes, we’ll do it’.

“We’re just weighing up some options at the minute. If not, there’s no real drama, we’re only 10 weeks away from January [transfer window].

“We’ve got a lot of Under-23s games to fulfill up to then and we don’t just want to send them out willy-nilly to somewhere they won’t get many games.”

Centre-half Jacob Greaves, who spent time on loan at Cheltenham last season, is however one player who will not be departing this month.

“Absoutely not. Jacob’s very much part of our plans here. He’s highly thought of,” McCann said.
