The Terriers are understood to be tracking several players, including Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Rajiv van La Parra.

Speculation in the West Midlands suggests Town have made an offer for the Holland Under-21s man in an attempt to bolster a forward line so depleted last weekend that defender Mark Hudson had to be pushed up front in the final stages of the 2-1 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion.

Wagner refused to comment on La Parra out of respect to Wolves but, on Town’s work in the transfer market this month, the German added: “We have a big budget from the chairman but I will only do business if they can help us long term.

“If not, I am not worried.”

Town have made three additions since the turn of the year, Jed Steer returning from Aston Villa on loan for a third time and James Husband coming in on a temporary move from Middlesbrough.

Completing the trio of new faces is Karim Matmour,
signed as a free agent following his release by Kuwaiti club Al-Arabi.

Meanwhile, Hull City are on the verge of making their first signing of the window after having a £200,000 bid for Legia Warsaw goalkeeper Dusan Kuciak accepted.

Steve Bruce tried to sign the 30-year-old last summer but the Tigers had two bids rejected. Kuciak will provide competition for first choice Allan McGregor and Eldin Jakupovic, who will start tomorrow at Bury in the FA Cup as Steve Bruce rotates his squad.

Turkish side Osmanlispor and an unnamed German club are believed to have been interested in Kuciak but the Tigers are confident of completing a move ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline.
