Hull City 3 Watford 2: Tigers fightback earns victory

For long periods, the Tigers may have been a shadow of the side that had claimed four points from their previous two games against Cardiff City and Brighton & Albion.

But they came good at the death when Koren fired in from the edge of the area deep into stoppage time.

Hull’s first equaliser had come just six minutes into the second half when Matty Fryatt finished from close range after Tom Cairney’s shot had only been half cleared.

Watford’s response came just five minutes later when Chris Iwelumo headed in off the underside of the crossbar after being picked out by Mark Yeates.

It took the Scotland international’s eighth goal in eight appearances against the Tigers but City refused to be beaten and drew level for a second time midway through the second half courtesy of Aaron Mclean.

Liam Rosenior created the chance with his tenacity down the right to set up Mclean for a chance he couldn’t miss, in the process bagging his first goal at the KC Stadium.

It set up a frantic finale that Hull capped with a dramatic late winner courtesy of Koren’s trusty right boot.
