Hull City handed Hoops trip in Premier League first game

HULL CITY will hit the road to QPR on the first day of the new Premier League season on August 16.

Steve Bruce’s side have been handed a decent start to the 2014-15 campaign, with their home opener being against Mark Hughes’ Stoke City on August 23 followed by more Midlands opposition in the shape of Aston Villa.

City visit Villa Park on August 30, eager to vanquish memories of their poor late-season 3-1 loss in the second city in May.

Following the first international break of the campaign, Hull play host to West Ham on September 13 before visiting St James’ Park to face Newcastle on September 20, having famously triumphed 3-2 on Tyneside last autumn.

The East Yorkshiremen face a tough end to September at home to Manchester City on September 27 and the following month sees them negotiate exacting away tests at the Emirates Stadium against Arsenal on October 18 and Liverpool seven days later.

Many of the club’s fixtures will be subject to change if Hull make it through to the group stages of the Europa League.

November ends for Hull with another difficult double-header, at home to Spurs on November 22 and away to Manchester United on November 29.

Hull visit Chelsea on December 20 and City’s Yuletide programme sees them host Swansea on December 20 and travel to Bruce’s former club Sunderland on December 26.

City play host to Leicester on December 28 which sees Nigel Pearson return to his old employers.

Everton provide the New Year’s Day opposition at the KC Stadium and City end the month at home to Newcastle on January 31.

February sees Hull head to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City on February and they welcome Chelsea on March 21 and Liverpool on April 18.

Three of Hull’s final four games are at home soil. They host Arsenal on May 2 and Burnley a week later with their final game at the KC being against Manchester United on May 24.

Hull travel to White Hart Lane for the final away game of the campaign at Spurs on May 16.
