HullL City v Crystal Palace: Pearson has sights on Premier pair

A YEAR to the weekend since Hull City’s relegation from the Premier League was confirmed, Nigel Pearson seems set to step up his rebuilding job.

With the Tigers five points adrift of the play-offs with just two games to play, today’s visit of Crystal Palace is likely to bring the curtain down on an eventful season at the KC Stadium.

Hull kicked off last August facing an uncertain future due to relegation, which had been confirmed with a 2-2 draw at Wigan Athletic on May Day, leaving a huge hole in the club’s finances.

The December takeover by the Allam family then saved Hull, who since then have rebuilt the squad to such an extent that with a couple of additions this summer there is every chance of next season bringing a concerted push for the Premier League.

Loanees Corry Evans, Vito Mannone and Jack Hobbs are expected to sign permanent deals with City this summer, while Liverpool’s Daniel Ayala and Joe Dudgeon, of Manchester United, are also understood to be on Pearson’s wanted list.
