Ipswich Town 0 Hull City 1: Pearson praises Tigers’ spirit

Nigel Pearson saw his Hull City shock Paul Jewell’s Ipswich in the Championship to earn their first win of the new season.

Dele Adebola and Liam Rosenior were both fit, while Robert Koren, Robbie Brady, Joe Dudgeon, Peter Gulacsi, Corry Evans and Tom Cairney all returned from international duty to give Nigel Pearson a major boost following Tuesday’s Carling Cup defeat to Macclesfield Town.

Hull finally broke the deadlock, Matty Fryatt pouncing on 75 minutes for the Tigers.

“It’s been a difficult week, having so many players away on international duty and three injuries, so we’ve been a bit disjointed” said Nigel Pearson.

“But the players came out with it with a lot of credit because it was a very good team performance.
