Missing man appeal at soccer clash

An appeal will be made for missing Hull man Stephen Sykes at one of the biggest games in Hull City’s history today.

The 49-year-old was last seen at his home in Brantingham Walk on April 24. Police say they are “extremely worried” because he is known to be depressed.

There have been several unconfirmed sightings of Mr Sykes in Hull and on the East Coast, including one in remote Fitling, in Holderness, where a man matching his description was seen on a roadside bench and later near a farm “staring into space”.

Concerned neighbours called police and a helicopter scoured the area but no one was found.

Humberside Police said appeals for Mr Sykes would continue over the Bank Holiday, including a Big Screen appeal at the Hull City versus Cardiff game. Anyone with information is asked to call the non emergency number 101.
