The Tigers are without striker Matt Fryatt, who faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines with an Achilles injury. Former Wednesday loan player Alex Bruce missed out with a groin injury, meaning a recall for Paul McShane.

And the Irish defender came closest to scoring for the visitors, but his header was kep out by Owls goalkeeper Chris Kirkland.

At the other end, Llera thought hus header was over the line but Ahmed Elmohamady hoofed the ball clear.

Paul McKenna volleyed a 44th minute effort which just flew wide of Kirkland’s goal.

Aaron McLean settled the contest after coming on as a second-half substitute, firing beyond Kirkland.
