Last night, Boris Johnson announced tougher lockdown measures across the country in an attempt to combat the spread of Covid-19.

The Prime Minister did, however, also state that elite-level sporting events could continue in the UK.

That means Hull City and their rivals will continue in League One for the foreseeable future.

The news also means the continuation of the January transfer window with the rumour mill now in full flow.

And there was some big news yesterday as the Tigers’ third-tier rivals Fleetwood Town announced the departure of manager Joey Barton.
