Chasing top awards at Hull City, Doncaster Rovers and Harrogate Town

HULL City, Doncaster Rovers and Harrogate Town are in the running for dual honours in the EFL’s divisional awards for September.

Tigers manager Grant McCann and his Rovers counterpart Darren Moore are among the nominees for the League One manager of the month accolade alongside Lincoln City chief Michael Appleton and Ipswich Town’s Paul Lambert.

McCann’s side won all three league games last month in an outstanding start to the campaign - which also saw them keep three consecutive clean sheets, while knock Leeds United out of the EFL Cup.

Rovers picked up seven points from a possible nine and scored eight goals along the way.

Tigers schemer George Honeyman and Doncaster midfielder Madger Gomes are included in the four representatives vying to be crowned as the division’s player of the month for September - and face competition from AFC Wimbledon forward Joe Pigott and Lincoln goalkeeper Alex Palmer.

Harrogate manager Simon Weaver is named in the nominees for the League Two manager of the month vote for September following his side’s excellent start to life in the Football League - which saw them go unbeaten.

Port Vale’s John Askey, Cambridge United manager Mark Bonner and Newport’s Mike Flynn are competing against him.

Harrogate striker Aaron Martin - who provided two league goals and three assists in September - is up for the player accolade alongside Salford City’s Ian Henderson, Cambridge forward Paul Mullin and Morecambe midfielder Adam Phillips.

The winners will be announced on Friday morning.
