Ismael hails 'seriousness' and professionalism of Barnsley FC players

BARNSLEY head coach Valerien Ismael has hailed the 'seriousness' and professionalism of his side following their head-turning start to Championship life under him.

Since being appointed as Gerhard Struber's successor, the Frenchman has overseen four victories in his five matches in charge so far ahead of Tuesday night's home match with Brentford.

Paying tribute to his side, Ismael commented: "When you win one time, it can be luck.

"We have adapted to the opponent so far and what we need for the Championship.

"When you get the results, it is easier to believe in these principles, but the players are very focused and the most important thing is that the players know that to play like this, you have to be professional, focused and show seriousness in everything what you on the pitch and outside of the pitch.

Ismael says that Aapo Halme is currently sidelined with a calf issue which will keep him out of action in the games this week.
