Jackett's men doubly motivated

KENNY JACKETT believes Millwall have already proved that the disappointment of missing out on automatic promotion on the last day of the season is out of their system.

The Lions were pipped to second place by Leeds United despite beating Swindon Town 3-2 at The Den.

It ensured the regular season ended on a low for Millwall but manager Jackett says that is now all forgotten.

"After the final day of the season, we had a couple of days off and I said 'if there is any disappointment then feel sorry for yourselves for a couple of days then you have to get over it'.

"By Tuesday, that is where everyone in the club was. We have had more than long enough to get over that."

Millwall were aggrieved not to be awarded at least one penalty and Jackett believes his players will use the 'miscarriage of justice' as a motivating factor. He said: "I hope the players do use it. I thought we had valid claims but we didn't get them so we have to move on. I like to think my players don't need driving on more with the stakes where they are."
