Kike leaves Boro to head back to Spain and join Eibar

MIDDLESBROUGH have sold Spanish striker Kike to Primera Division side Eibar for an undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old joined Boro in the summer of 2014 from Murcia and went on to make 75 appearances for the Championship club.

The former Spain Under-20 international scored 16 goals during his time on Teesside, but will return to his homeland with Middlesbrough currently second in the table.

Kike has netted four times in 24 games this season, including two against Bolton in August, and his final goal for the club came at Brighton in December.

“Kike departs Teesside with the best wishes of everyone connected with MFC,” read a club statement.
