Kittrick prepares for lottery test

Blue Square North: Fifth-placed Guiseley hit back from behind to lead Eastwood Town in their final game before the play-offs, only for the visitors to grab an equaliser in a 2-2 draw.

Andy Todd headed Eastwood in front after only four minutes, Simon Baldry equalising from eight yards in the 24th minute.

When Baldry’s header came back off the bar, James Walshaw nodded Guiseley ahead just before half-time and, after home goalkeeper Steve Drench saved a penalty from Todd, Adie Hawes headed a 67th-minute leveller.

Guiseley manager Steve Kittrick said: “It becomes a bit of a lottery in the play-offs. With just one defeat in 13 games we’ve got our form back, so we are confident.”

Harrogate Town went down to a 3-0 away defeat as Telford confirmed second place.

It was the visitors who made the brighter start as Liam Hardy’s goalbound shot hit Sean Newton on the line.

However, Harrogate’s Mark Cook soon had to save from Newton and Jon Adams as the Bucks hit their stride.

A looping header from Carl Rodgers on the half-hour gave Telford the lead, then an inspired half-time substitution introduced Alex Meecham, who shot home after 47 minutes.

Phil Trainer bundled in the third soon afterwards as Cook spilled a corner.

Harrogate battled to the end with Steve Bowey and Ciaran Toner firing over the bar.
