Blow to Warnock as Leeds miss out on Hill and Kilgallon

LEEDS United has missed out on prime target Clint Hill after the QPR defender signed a new contract with his existing club.

Hill, 33, was believed to be in Leeds boss Neil Warnock’s sights, having played under him at both Rangers and Crystal Palace.

His existing contract with QPR expires this month but a strong run of performances earned him an offer to remain at Loftus Road under manager Mark Hughes.

Leeds also look set to miss out on Matthew Kilgallon, who now plans to stay with Sunderland.

A source close to Kilgallon said: “He’s happy and he wants to stay there.”
