FT Burnley 1 Leeds United 2: Snodgrass at the double for Whites

ROBERT SNODGRASS completed an amazing smash-and-grab raid as Leeds United came from behind to claim all three points, writes Richard Sutcliffe.

The Scottish international struck twice in the last 15 minutes to condemn Burnley to defeat.

It was harsh on the Clarets, who until Snodgrass’ equaliser in the 76th minute had bossed the game.

Only loanee goalkeeper Alex McCarthy stood between Burnley and what would surely have been an insurmountable lead as he pulled off save after save to deny the home side.

Thanks to McCarthy’s heroics, Leeds were trailing by just one goal when Snodgrass slid in to convert a Lloyd Sam cross at the back post.

Buoyed to be level despite being second best up to that point, United then pushed forward for a winner that duly came a minute from time when Snodgrass again finished at the back post after Burnley had failed to clear a Ramon Nunez cross.
