Peltier – a £650,000 signing from Leicester City - remained in the centre of defence against Wolves with Warnock naming an unchanged line-up after last weekend’s League Cup victory over Shrewsbury Town.

Tom Lees, who nursed a groin strain in the lead-up to this afternoon’s clash, appeared on the bench alongside El-Hadji Diouf with young right-back Sam Byram handed a full league debut.

Wolves’ starting line-up featured Kevin Doyle, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Matt Jarvis.

United: Kenny, Byram, Peltier, Pearce, White, Green, Norris, Austin, Varney, McCormack, Becchio. Subs: Ashdown, Drury, Kisnorbo, Lees, Brown, Gray, Diouf.

Wolves: Ikeme, Zubar, Stearman, Johnson, Ward, Jarvis, Henry, Doumbia, Forde, Ebanks-Blake, Doyle. Subs: De Vries, Edwards, Peszko, Hunt, Sigurdarson, Berra, Davis.
