Leeds Diouf link fails to draw Warnock

NEIL Warnock last night declined to comment on speculation linking El Hadj Diouf with a surprise move to Elland Road.

The Senegal international is available on a free transfer in the summer following Doncaster Rovers relegation from the Championship.

Diouf is keen to find a new club in England and admits to being very interested in a possible switch to West Yorkshire.

However, when asked about United’s rumoured interest Warnock said: “I have nothing to say on any player linked with me, I am sure there will be a lot more in the coming weeks and I don’t want anything I say to be misconstrued.”

Warnock and Diouf famously have history after the former Liverpool forward was described as a “sewer rat” by the 63-year-old last year when in charge of QPR. The striker, also involved in a clash with Leeds players after February’s derby against Doncaster at Elland Road, said: “I know people have talked about the incident between me and Neil Warnock but it is in the past and is not an issue.

“I have the utmost respect for Neil Warnock and I would be delighted to help Leeds gain promotion to the Premier League.”
