Last season’s game, also shown live, ended in a dour 0-0 stalemate in an encounter that marked the debut of loan keeper Jack Butland on February 22, 2014.

Back in 2012-13, United suffered their first defeat at Boro since August 1992 when a late goal from Curtis Main gave the Teessiders the spoils in a 1-0 verdict in February 2013.

Prior to that, Leeds had won on their previous three visits to the Riverside, with goals from Robert Snodgrass and Luciano Becchio giving them a polished 2-0 success in March 2012.

Earlier this season on August 16, Leeds took all three points with a late Billy Sharp goal following a Tomas Mejias error giving the hosts a 1-0 success over Aitor Karanka’s Boro, in what represented the only league win during the tenure of former head coach David Hockaday.
