The 20-year-old Adryan has made a loan move to top-flight Nantes after failing to impress at Elland Road.

The playmaker arrived from Flamengo with a big reputation but, after a brief impressive spell in the first team November, he ended the season out of the squad.

Adryan told the Nantes official website: “I am very happy to be here. My dream was always to play in Europe and I have that chance. I will do everything to seize this opportunity.

“I have seen for myself that it is really a great club. I have to do my best on the field to satisfy the fans.”

Adryan’s career has also included a spell in Italy with Cagliari, where he moved to Leeds from at the end of August last year.

The deal was made by Leeds United president and former Cagliari owner Massimo Cellino and it included an option of a permanent £3m move from Flamengo.

Adryan made his Leeds debut as a substitute against Rotherham United in a 2-1 defeat in mid-October. He made his first Leeds start in the following game, in a 1-1 draw against Norwich City, providing an assist for Souleymane Doukara’s equaliser.

He made 12 appearances for Leeds but failed to score.
