Leeds United ‘close to deal’ with Palace star Jimmy Kebe
The club are one of a number of Championship sides who have expressed an interest in the Mali international whose career in English football took shape under Brian McDermott at Reading.
McDermott managed Kebe throughout his time as boss at the Madejski Stadium - a spell in which Reading reached a play-off final and won the Championship title - and the Leeds boss is back in for the 29-year-old ahead of Saturday’s derby with Sheffield Wednesday.

Hide AdKebe moved to Palace from Reading in August but has played only six times this season, and the recent appointment of Tony Pulis as manager at Selhurst Park has not enhanced his prospects.
Leicester City and Brighton are also looking at Kebe but United appear to be favourites to secure his signature - one of two deals which could be completed by McDermott in time for Saturday’s derby.
Leeds have also lined up the signing of Hull City winger Cameron Stewart on a 93-day loan from Hull City.
