The Elland Road club will fill the upper and lower tiers of the Leppings Lane end at Hillsborough, the scene of the infamous attack on Wednesday goalkeeper Chris Kirkland when the clubs met in October 2012.

Kirkland was struck by a Leeds supporter who ran onto the pitch after United equalised in a fractious 1-1 draw.

Leeds were subsequently limited to 3,100 seats in the upper tier of Leppings Lane for their 6-0 defeat to Wednesday last season but United announced today that they will receive more than 4,000 tickets for this month’s derby.

The fixture has already been moved from a 3pm kick-off to a 12.30pm start on police advice.
