Leeds United: Wickham recalled by Black Cats
LEEDS UNITED have a suffered a blow ahead of Tuesday’s Championship trip to Bournemouth after loan striker Connor Wickham was recalled by parent club Sunderland.
The 20-year-old will be available for the Black Cats’ trip to Anfield on Wednesday evening, with on-loan Liverpool striker Fabio Borini unable to face his parent club due to league rules.
The news comes as a surprise development with Wickham rejecting interest from a number of Championship sides to join United late last month on loan until the end of the season.
Wickham, who has played in a left-sided role for United recently, failed to find the net in five games for the Whites after making his debut in the draw at QPR on March 1.
