The former Whites captain has made 27 appearances for the club this season, but has recently found himself on the sidelines.

Peltier was signed by Warnock during his time at United, bringing him in from Leicester City in the summer of 2012.

The Liverpool-born player was made club captain by Warnock.

Leeds manager Brian McDermott said: “We had an offer for Lee to go to Forest on loan.

“He felt he wanted to go because he isn’t in the team at this moment in time, and we’ve agreed to let him go.”

Peltier is set to make his debut for the Reds against Charlton at the City Ground on Tuesday. WHAT DO YOU THINK? Click here to register and have your say on the stories and issues that matter to you
