The players’ union is working to resolve the fall-out between Hall and Leeds following the winger’s suspension for a breach of discipline on Monday.

Hall, who was due to return to training at Thorp Arch this week after a loan at Sheffield United, has been suspended on full pay while Leeds investigate comments made by him on Twitter.

The 25-year-old has been a peripheral figure during his time at Elland Road and he vented frustration about his situation after being left out of Sheffield United’s win over Port Vale on Saturday – the last game of his loan.

“If you’re not getting played take the L out and get payed,” Hall tweeted.

Football is such a short career...so do whatever you can to earn as much money as possible.”

The terms of Hall’s contract allow Leeds to suspend him for up to two weeks. PFA deputy chief executive John Bramhall said: “We’re speaking to Ryan and we’ll be supporting him through the process.”
