Premiership clubs circle over Leeds youngster Aidan White

PREMIERSHIP clubs were reported today to be circling around Leeds and Ireland player Aidan White as his elland road contact nears its end.

Two clubs sent scouts to watch White against Middlesbrough on Sunday with a view to snapping him up at the end of June.

White, 20, is approaching the end of a long-term deal agreed with Leeds in 2007 after leaving the club’s academy. Leeds would be entitled to compensation if he joins another English club this summer.

He set up the opening goal during an impressive display in Sunday’s 2-0 victory, prompting praise from new manager Neil Warnock, who previously moved him from defence to right wing.

Warnock said: “I fancied him in that position when I first saw him. I don’t think he did or my staff. But he’s quite capable if he keeps believing and scores a few goals himself.”

White is not believed to have received an improved offer from Leeds since rejecting an initial approach.
