Rhodes gets Scotland call

Huddersfield Town striker Jordan Rhodes has earned his first call-up for Scotland.

After scoring five goals for the Under-21s in their last two games, Oldham-born Rhodes has earned his first senior selection for this month`s friendly against Cyprus.

Manager Craig Levein has also recalled Russell Martin and Jamie Mackie for the game on November 11.

Mackie`s last appearance for the Scots was almost a year ago against the Faroe Islands, while Martin earned his only cap against Wales in the Carling Nations Cup in May.

Barry Bannan has been dropped from the squad, following his arrest on suspicion of drink-driving.

Leeds United’s robert Snodgrass and Middlesbrough’s Barry Robson are also included in the squad.
