Hartis is the club’s latest backroom addition following the announcement that former West Brom, Preston, Leicester City and Sheffield Wednesday assistant-boss Rob Kelly is to join as number two to new head coach Uwe Rosler.

Hartis is currently with England U18s on international business in Moscow, having served as a goalkeeping coach for various England youth teams.

He will link up with Leeds in time for pre-season.

Hartis has previously worked as goalkeeping coach at Cardiff City under Ole Gunnar Solskjear, having been part of the Norweigan’s backroom team at Molde.

Other roles for the 47-year-old have included a spell as head of Academy goalkeeping at Manchester United.

Hartis also spent time as a goalkeeping coach with Leeds academy in the late 1990s.

The appointment of Hartis will see Neil Sullivan return to his previous role in the club’s academy, coaching the under-21s and under-18s.
